Coming Across To Others - Building Relationships - Douglas Castle

Excerpted from Douglas Castle's Blog, The Internationalist Page, at http://theinternationalistpage.blogspot.com/. Douglas Castle is Co-Chairman of TNNWC Group, LLC and is a Featured Columnist for The National Networker Newsletter (http://www.thenationalnetworker.com/)

How We Actually Send our Signals...our Messages to Others...

Communication is less than 20% verbal. Non-verbal communication, and other, subtle forms of communication are often much more powerful than words. ...influence, personal magnetism, interpersonal chemistry, pheromones and exohormones, persuasion, domination, attraction, seduction, body language, subliminal messages, subtle negotiation, nonverbal cues...

In using social media, we are limited to using very few of our sensory signalling outlets. We have communicate from a situation of vigorous limitations and challenges. Using conferencing facilities and webcams, while helpful, might only get us up to 60% of our full communication potential. Hugs and handshakes create exchanges of intuition and energy that are irreplaceable. They build trust. They literally force closeness.

The idea is to become as proficient in the use of every one of these signalling outlets, and to maximize our opportunity for in-person, in-touch communication. It's simply a matter of fact.

Relationships may become initiated through various social media and signalling devices -- but sonner or later, as Bonnie Ross-Parker, CEO and Founder of The Joy Of Connecting (http://wwwthejoyofconnecting.com/) would say to any aspiring licensee: "Let's get together in person and enjoy eachother's company.

Ms. Ross-Parker is on to something. And the rest of the cyber-speed, multitasking world might be losing its edge. The most powerful relationships are formed when we share a close homey space, a meal, casual conversation and physical contact.

Want to learn something??? -- read the testimonials on Ms. Ross-Parker's website: http://www.thejoyofconnecting.com/ .

You might choose to become one of Ms. Ross-Parker's Growing Group of Licensees, or perhaps you may not. Either way, there's no advertisement here -- just a "real world education" for people who want to exponentialize their relationship-making time investment.

In these increasingly confusing times, when it seems that everyone is "announcing" and "broadcasting" instead of engaging in deepening dialogue, the special power of IN-PERSON exchanges is growing, and setting successful relationship-builders apart from the throngs of name-accumulators and list-builders.

Faithfully,

Douglas Castle
